Direct Printing:

Ideal for intricate close registration multi-coloured designs. This form of printing has been tested, proven and adopted for commercial use where quality of print is paramount. The professional football and rugby market are examples of where this print is used in the commercial environment. It is a very expensive form of printing but the cost per application does reduce on larger quantities ordered. Price per application is based on quantity and design area. (Sq Cms)

Materials Available Include:

Transfast - The premium universal transfer developed to withstand repeated washing by industrial machines at 80C. Ideally suited for application onto industrial work wear, leisure wear and sports wear, the quality and wash fastness of the print is far superior to conventional screen print

Weatherguard - Many water proof garments such as nylon jackets are impossible to screen print effectively and difficult to heat transfer due to the low melting point of the fabric. Weatherguard has been specifically developed to overcome this problem through its own low curing point. It is also recommended for difficult sportswear fabrics such as Lycra, ADM's technical department will be pleased to help you with any enquiries.

Transfast Sport - The premium sports transfer developed to withstand repeated washing. Ideally suited for application onto sportswear, resulting in the elimination of sublimation bleed-through. The quality and wash fastness of the print is far superior to conventional screen print.

Process Sport - Full colour, fully opaque durable transfers. Process Sport is available in Transfast, Transfast Sport and Weatherguard variations.

Artwork Requirements

The first stage in this process is to receive the artwork from the customer. Ideally ADM would prefer first generation artwork. This means a copy of the artwork in its original format and where possible in a vector format. Preferred formats include:

  • Adobe Illustrator Files (.ai or .eps files)
  • Corel Draw Files (.cdr files)

Artwork created on an apple-mac should be converted for use on a PC or saved as a tiff file.

In providing these files the design team at ADM can reproduce any artwork ready for the direct printing process. With this form of printing, the quality of the print is very much dependant on the quality of the artwork provided, therefore customers must endeavour to supply the highest quality of artwork possible.

If artwork cannot be provided in any of the above formats ADM may have to charge the customer a nominal fee to recreate the artwork in the appropriate format. Customers would be informed of this before production of the order commenced.

It is also advisable for customers to provide generic artwork files. These illustrate the artwork required in its original format without the risk of any misunderstanding between the two parties. For example artwork sent via email can often change slightly due to one party not having the appropriate font. These generic files include:

  • Tiff files (.tiff)
  • Jpeg Files (.jpeg)
  • Adobe Reader Files (pdf) Adobe 6 or earlier*

ADM require 300dpi high resolution files from customers.

Fonts

Ideally fonts should be embedded. This means that fonts should be converted into outlines or curves wherever possible. It is preferred that the font file is also provided by the customer.

Costings

There are two costings that apply to direct-printing the first is the set up charge and the second is the application charge. Printing costs are determined by the size of the logo(sq.cms), the number of colours in the design and the material used.

Set Up Charge

The set up charge covers the cost involved in reformatting the artwork suitable for printing. The cost to set up a design in this format is 25.00 plus VAT. (29.37) A sample print can be produced at a nominal fee.

Price based on artwork provided in appropriate format.
