Embroidery

Logos

To embroider logos onto garments the logo has to be digitized to a disc or jacquard. Artwork sent by customers must be recreated by experienced designers at ADM using specialist digitizing software. This process is critical as it takes into consideration other factors such as, garment fabrics chosen by the customer and variances that occur during the embroidery process. The end result is an embroidered logo that replicates the customer's artwork exactly.

Text Only

For the majority of text only embroidery there is no set up charge. ADM have a choice of fonts that the customer can choose from, please contact ADM for details. If a specific font is not available an origination charge would be incurred.

Once the disc or jacquard has been created ADM embroider the garments ordered using the latest hi-tech machinery. Currently ADM have 4 Barudan machines in-house. These machines provide ADM with the capacity and flexibility to handle any size of order.

Artwork Requirements

The first stage in this process is to receive the artwork from the customer. Although ADM would prefer first generation artwork design staff can work from a printed copy of the logo, (i.e. compliment slip, letterhead) or even an old embroidered garment.

Ideally ADM would prefer first generation artwork. This means a copy of the artwork in its original format and where possible in a vector format. Preferred formats include:

  • Adobe Illustrator Files (.ai or .eps files)
  • Corel Draw Files (.cdr files)

Artwork created on an apple-mac computer should be converted for use on a PC or saved as a tiff file.

In providing these files the design team at ADM can reproduce any artwork efficiently ready to transfer to the appropriate embroidery format.

It is also advisable for customers to provide generic artwork files. These illustrate the artwork required in its original format without the risk of any misunderstanding between the two parties. For example artwork sent via email can often change slightly due to one party not having the appropriate letter font. These generic files include:

  • Tiff files (.tiff)
  • Jpeg Files (.jpeg)
  • Adobe Reader Files (pdf) Adobe 6 or earlier*

ADM would prefer 300dpi high resolution files to be sent by customers. For one colour designs created in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word or Powerpoint a jpeg alone is suitable, but this must be a minimum resolution of 150dpi. Artwork in these files should be black so that ADM can scan the image into the computer. The embroidery is then produced in the customer's choice of colour.

Fonts

Ideally fonts should be embedded. This means that fonts should be converted into outlines or curves wherever possible. It is preferred that the font file is also provided by the customer.

If none of the above artwork criteria can be supplied by the customer ADM would be able to work from a printed copy of the logo, (i.e. compliment slip, letterhead) or even an old embroidered garment.

Costings

There are two costings that apply to embroidery, the first is the origination charge and the second is the application charge. Embroidery costs are determined by the number of stitches in the design and not by the numbers of colours. Therefore, the larger and more complicated the design the more expensive the logo will be.

Please note that all garment prices indicated in the website include one free embroidered logo. However, origination charges may apply.

Origination Charges

The origination charge covers the cost involved in digitizing the artwork suitable for embroidery. This is a one-off cost.

The cost is based on the number of stitches in the design.

10.00 plus VAT per 1000 stitches

Therefore, a design consisting of 5000 stitches would cost 50.00 plus vat. (58.75) A minimum cost applies of 25.00 plus VAT. (29.37)

Application Charge

The application charge is the cost of actually embroidering the logo onto each product.

The cost is based on the number of stitches in the design.

0.35 plus VAT per 1000 stitches

Therefore, a design consisting of 5000 stitches would cost 1.75 plus VAT. (2.05) A minimum cost applies of 1.50 plus VAT. (1.76)

Please note that prices on the website include one free embroidered logo.

Discounts may apply for large quantities where customers require ADM's commission embroidery service.
