Heat Sealed Printing:

Printing that uses a vinyl material to provide a durable permanent print that gives an excellent quality matt finish. This process produces single or multiple coloured transfers in a wide variety of high performance materials. Bag printing, players numbers and individually names can also be printed using this print procedure.

The two most common materials used are Flexi Cut and Nylo Cut. Flexi Cut is available in approximately 20 colours and is ideal for sportswear, polyester and cotton based materials. Nylo Cut is available in approximately 15 colours and allows ADM to successfully imprint onto nylon materials. All materials provide superior durability and can be industrially washed, dry cleaned and tumble dried.

Artwork Requirements

The first stage in this process is to receive the artwork from the customer. Ideally ADM would prefer first generation artwork. This means a copy of the artwork in its original format and where possible in a vector format. Preferred formats include:

  • Adobe Illustrator Files (.ai or .eps files)
  • Corel Draw Files (.cdr files)

Artwork created on an apple-mac computer should be converted for use on a PC or saved as a tiff file.

In providing these files the design team at ADM can reproduce any artwork efficiently ready to transfer into the appropriate printing format. If artwork cannot be provided in any of the above formats ADM may have to charge the customer a nominal fee to recreate the artwork in the appropriate format. Customers would be informed of this before production of the order commenced.

It is also advisable for customers to provide generic artwork files. These illustrate the artwork required in its original format without the risk of any misunderstanding between the two parties. For example artwork sent via email can often change slightly due to one party not having the appropriate letter font. These generic files include:

  • Tiff files (.tiff)
  • Jpeg Files (.jpeg)
  • Adobe Reader Files (pdf) Adobe 6 or earlier*

ADM require 300dpi high resolution files from customers. For one colour designs created in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word or Powerpoint a jpeg alone is suitable, but this must be a minimum resolution of 150dpi. Artwork in these files should be black so that ADM can scan the image into the computer. Printing can then be undertaken in the customers choice of colour.

Fonts

Ideally fonts should be embedded. This means that fonts should be converted into outlines or curves wherever possible. It is preferred that the font file is also provided by the customer.

Costings

There are two costings that apply to heat-sealed printing the first is the set up charge and the second is the application charge. Printing costs are determined by the number of colours in the design.

The set up charge covers the cost involved in reformatting the artwork suitable for printing and also the cost involved in weeding out excess material from each design. This is a one-off cost. After one year re-use of these prints incurs a one off annual payment of 5.90. This is known as a reset up charge.

The application charge is the cost of actually printing the logo onto each product.

Prices for both the set up charge and application charge can be found below. Discounts are available on large print runs.
